🍳 Lodge Silicone Skillet Trivet for Food Service Equipment & Supplies Review

This is the first type of coaster I've tried and I really like it. I used to just place hot items on a round pin, but if there is something on the bottom of the pot it can contaminate the pin. Also, if it's very hot (or too close to the stove), it can burn itself. The biggest problem with potholders is that they don't prevent slipping. This trivet is ideal for pots up to 7 inches or slightly larger. This comes in very handy for my stainless steel pot which is just under 7 inches tall! As it's made by the Lodge company, I was surprised they didn't make large trivets for their large cast iron skillets or Dutch ovens. Hard to believe that a square of silicone this thin and flexible could do the job of a cast iron trivet; but it is, and with a minimalist flair!
