Good grip keeps pans from slipping

This is the first type of coaster I've tried and I really like it. I used to just place hot items on a round pin, but if there is something on the bottom of the pot it can contaminate the pin. Also, if it's very hot (or too close to the stove), it can burn itself. The biggest problem with potholders is that they don't prevent slipping. This one holds the pot or pan in place, works up to a whopping 500 degrees, and actually looks pretty with its raised, nested pot pattern. So this first non-slip

Pros
  • Embossed pattern on pan improves grip
Cons
  • Expensive

This trivet is ideal for pots up to 7 inches or slightly larger. This comes in very handy for my stainless steel pot which is just under 7 inches tall! As it's made by the Lodge company, I was surprised they didn't make large trivets for their large cast iron skillets or Dutch ovens. I have a Lodge Dutch Oven that is significantly larger than 7 inches so I cannot use it. Glad I ordered an 11" cast iron skillet/Dutch oven rack! (This will be checked later.) If you need a larger stand, check out…

Pros
  • Protects hands from heat up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit; protects surfaces up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit
Cons
  • Easily Crumpled

Bright red silicone pad that works

Hard to believe that a square of silicone this thin and flexible could do the job of a cast iron trivet; but it is, and with a minimalist flair! The Lodge silicone pot holder is very easy to handle and use. Just lay it flat on the surface and it's ready for hot pots, pans, baking sheets and even doubles as a nice stand for a hot carafe. I use it throughout the kitchen, countertop to countertop, and love how luxurious the red color and interesting pattern look on a variety of surfaces. It's also

  • Non-slip silicone prevents accidents
