They work well for a while

I wish I could give them a higher rating but they just don't hold or stay as firm as some of the other brands I've tried and used . At least they are good value, in which case you get what you pay for.

Pros
  • For use with pencil, charcoal and pastels
Cons
  • Some flaws

Good for mixing charcoal and graphite

I used to use a cloth to mix graphite, but for my freehand drawing class I needed a set of stumps so I bought this set. It takes me a while to get used to texture blending with them, but after a bit of practice I got pretty decent results.

Pros
  • Made in Switzerland
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Every artist should have a variety of

If you paint (or have a child who paints), you're probably very familiar with them. If not: get to know each other! Buy strict sizes. It makes blending a dream and makes your drawings look more realistic. I also recommend Loew-Cornell Assorted Blending Stumps, 5-Count Blending Stumps which I love even more. Use the tip of the tortillion, the side of the hood. You will love them. This brand is reliable quality for blenders and tortillons.

Pros
  • LOEW CORNELL-Blending Tortillons
Cons
  • Legacy Model
