I grew up on Niagara aerosol starch which makes things stiff and sticky when wet. It's not like this. I am very pleasantly surprised. I wear lightweight nylon/synthetic shirts from mountaineering and athletic apparel companies and the shirts wash well but look wrinkled after drying. Regular strength is too heavy and smells awful! This product is a very light starch, not a starch alternative. I iron many yards of denim each week and this product has all the downsides of starch at a tremendous price. it will flake, burn, etc if you don't handle this product like you would any other starch product.
