So cute! The fabric resembles a cotton-linen mass and is also easy to wash/dry. It can be fun to sit on but I have a feeling that with any skirt you always want to smooth it down before you sit down and with ruffles it doesn't stand out lol. The laces are very long so I tied them twice to avoid cutting them - they are functional so they are tightened at the waist. I highly recommend this - I ordered the small, I'm 5ft 10", 130lbs and it fits great.
