It was like a ghost

Luck, coincidence, luck. Interesting, isn't it? From buying a lottery ticket to family slogans and philosophical reflections, we care whether it's with us or not. So when I stumbled upon what initially attracted me to its cast and after watching a few episodes, I realized that there was more than just luck behind the making of this series. Call it caring or depth, there was something that evoked a feeling. The musical accompaniment to the plot was interesting and often touching, the characters'

Excellent Series for Blu-ray

You will like it if you are looking for an unusual setting. There aren't many shows about horse racing. Yes, the dialogue is difficult to follow as the characters use industry terminology. It got easier when I found a few phrases like: horse racing, handicap, horse entitlement,. Some of the characters have distinct accents, which is pretty realistic since there are a lot of immigrants in the industry. Nick Nolte's seedy old character mumbles like someone who's been on a ranch, trains horses…

David Milch (Deadwood) is a brilliant author and a very troubled individual. It was revealed that he was struggling with a gambling addiction and may have lost tens of millions of dollars on the Los Angeles circuit and poker rooms.
