great vacation read

I came to Hiaasen after reading an article in the New Yorker about detective stories in Florida. The article focuses on Hiasen's work and at one point compares his style to Tom Wolfe's Miami novel Back to Blood. there is a stylistic similarity - both are social satirists, both see the world through glass, bleak.
