I have a butt so I usually take a size up when I shop online especially for everything I do so I bought a large (usually medium). They were too small so I sent them back and got XL and I swear there was no size difference. I think the bottom/first layer is getting bigger, but the flowy outer layer is still the same and too short. Not suitable.

These shorts are probably the most comfortable I've ever worn! I have a short torso and had 2 c-sections that left me with my mom's belly so I bought the large one because I wanted to make sure they wouldn't compress my waste and they would be perfect. The waistband is VERY forgiving and the straps are functional, so don't be afraid to go up a size or two for the perfect fit 😁
