Very efficient! for stoves and stove accessories

Holds enough heat for a nice light yellow color on 1095, W2 and some rebar at my little orphanage that were made without a propane torch heated weld forge. Underneath are solid refractory bricks, sides and lids, and "doors" of that sort. Cut a few slits in the scrap piece to hold the knives upright - that's what's in the middle.

This product causes CANCER!

I received these stones with a serious warning label: DUST BREATHING CAUSES CANCER! Nowhere on the order page was the carcinogenic effect of handling these stones pointed out! I threw them out right away. I have cancer and I don't need additional exposure to carcinogens! BE CAREFUL WHEN ORDERING GOODS ON AMAZON!

Pros
  • Quick Change
Cons
  • Not as good as advertised

VERY SOFT. IS WORKING. Suitable for stoves and stove accessories

I've seen some people's bricks arrive damaged. Mine have been great and they work. I made a mini horn out of 2 of these and a good quality blowtorch. But yes, if you drop one of them, 99% of the time they will break me. You can scratch the foam block with your fingernail, for example. could bite off it if it was edible. soft but easy to work with and seems to insulate quite well. I love love love how easy it was to dig into this stuff, it was stupid easy.

Gets beat up a little. Accept this before you buy

mostly intact with a few cracked corners and lots of dust in the bubble wrap. After reading the cancer warning about the dust, I was a little concerned about removing everything safely. Keep in mind that these stones are very soft. They will crumble and the corners will almost certainly break in transit. Although mine were packaged very well, they still lost a few corners. Just accept it before you buy them.

Poor Quality Bricks

I bought a pair of these bricks as I only needed two. Both bricks appear to be of poor quality, having broken corners and chips. I have purchased other brands of refractory bricks in the past and they have been in very good condition. Not worth going back as I can still use these poor quality stones for what I intended. I would definitely not recommend this stone to anyone. They arrived well packaged so I don't think they were damaged in transit. Most likely, the person who wrapped them ignored

Pros
  • Pottery and Pottery
Cons
  • Expensive

Excellent heat insulating, high temp resistant brick base for a Masterbuilt 30" propane smoker that would normally be placed on a decking deck. Fifteen (15) of these special stones were installed. Lightweight/high quality. I continued to buy bricks from the vendor to achieve the exact dimensions of the insulation surface I needed. The supplier ships the item immediately and carefully packs it in bubble wrap to ensure it arrives in perfect condition. The actual dimensions and thicknesses of the…

Well packaged October 2021

Seems the seller took note of the broken bricks. I ordered a 12 pack (3000F) and they arrived exceptionally well packaged - the box was Lynn Manufacturing (manufacturer) and not Revain. On the cancer warning: DUH. There is not a single refractory refractory brick or insulation of any high temperature grade that does not pose a risk of silicosis. If a brick is fired (and graded) at over 2100°F, that's in the range where amorphous silica can transform into cristobalite crystals...even if you buy…
