Ideal for electrical boxes, wiring and fittings

Ideal for construction work. I was adding recessed lighting to the kitchen and had to replace a 2 section box with 3. In the past I've used standard blue boxes with small wings and ledges that flip up and snap into drywall. I prefer this style as it has internal drywall screws that attach to the stud and mount flush to the drywall.

Sizes: Exit boxes

I had to find out if this box was big enough to hold the items I wanted to put in, but sizes are hard to come by. So I ordered and drew what I think is a reasonable picture of the box to write down the dimensions. While an attempt has been made to verify dimensions at all times, I take no responsibility for the information provided. the box was too small for my application :-(

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Very strong box: socket boxes

I used this box to add a switch for recessed lighting. I originally only had 2 switches and had to add another one. I cut the drywall to fit a three piece box and was able to pull the old box out through the hole and reattach it without requiring any drywall repair. The screws are very convenient to fix this box to the stud and it is very strong. This is a great electric box and we will be buying more for the same type of modification in the future.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Good but not great

Great Electrical Boxes

I have five 3-post boxes and one 1-post box installed for ceiling fans and recessed lighting in our home. Extremely easy to install, they allow for oversized dimmer and fan controls, as well as flush mounting to the wall (where other boxes with "wings" securing them allow the large switches to protrude more). Retrofitting house wiring, I'll always use them Minimal drywall damage and a secure flush mount installation make them a breeze.

Best Box: Output Boxes

Why is this the best box overall? Well, even with new construction, you can move it after installation to accommodate different wall panels. The old design simplifies installation and this box is deep enough to accommodate the wires perfectly. It's so durable you can stand on it sideways instead of standing on it. This is by far the best box I've ever used to hook up anything. I'll never nail the old guy again. I just can't stress how spacious this box is overall, but if you use it, you'll beโ€ฆ

Cons
  • Obsolete Model

Stabilization with panel required

The box is inherently so wide and not very rigid that it wobbles a bit and needs a panel to stabilize it on the wall. It works well but a stiffer box would be better. Also, the impact wrench is the only screwdriver that seems to effectively drive screws in all the way without removing the head. The narrowness of the screw holes in the box makes it difficult to get the screws in, and also makes it difficult to get the box flush with the wall because it will want to back off in the angle of theโ€ฆ

Very nice design and very durable jbox

The best thing about this particular Jbox is its exceptional durability. The design is what I've always been looking for as an electrician. The two screws fit perfectly on the inside of the jbox and drill right into the stud with ease. If you have read some of the reviews a gentleman was kind enough to provide me with the full dimensions of this particular jbox which was just what I needed to make my purchasing decision. The manufacturer must discontinue this type because its dimensions appearโ€ฆ

  • There are more interesting options.

Box folded well for secure installation

This was an "existing" 1 gang to 3 gang wall mounted unit. This took a little longer as the hole cut had to be absolutely accurate in size and close to the mounting stud. This box is very sturdy and well built which makes it very easy to mount on top of the typical flimsy wall box that you already have. The box costs more than twice as much as a regular box, but I don't have to worry about using an outlet breaking the box. I would recommend this product to anyone who takes pride in their workโ€ฆ

Strong but there are problems.

Made in China - the biggest mistake. In addition, the pre-assembled fastening screws are set at an angle so that they cannot be screwed in when assembling the box. You have to loosen the screws and screw them back in by pressing on them to correct their angle. Once you've done that, hold the box securely in place and use a cordless screwdriver or Phillips drill to drive the screws in with authority and control over the box's position. Another problem is when the romex wire is pushed through the
