They used to be good, now mostly junk

I bought this 2D flashlight, put in very good batteries and only used it for a very short time. After 15 months the flashlight stopped working (the batteries were fine). Put new batteries in, still doesn't work. This flashlight replaced a 3 DI flashlight he had for 2 years and even with good batteries they swelled up and couldn't get it out. I had a different brand flashlight with the same batteries from the same era and they were fine. I threw away the 3D and bought a 2D model. They never made

Great flashlights made in USA

Have been buying Maglites for many years. I think these are great lights. Well made, durable and reliable. The housing is made of aluminum and the lens is made of glass instead of plastic. I actually have 4 types of D-Cells and have one each in my car, kitchen, bedroom and garage. Versions with LEDs cost extra. They are much brighter and give more light. The adjustable lens is great for changing the light pattern from wide to narrow. With proper care, these lamps can last for decades. In…

This model does not meet Maglite standards

I have owned dozens of Maglites in my life. I was wondering why this one was so cheap, then I saw the great reviews and bought it. My instincts were right. Even though it's made in America, it's Chinese quality. It's obviously shorted out, because two sets of batteries lasted a week with about ten minutes of use. Law enforcement uses a more expensive 4-battery model that costs more than twice as much. Because. Budget Maglites are like budget Maglites, you get what you pay for or less. If you…

This is no ordinary flashlight

It seems that changing the bulb in a flashlight is pretty easy. Not this one! I called the company for removal instructions (seriously, this won't work). I was told they would help fix the problem and also the bulb cannot be replaced on your own. It comes with a switch and if I want I can send it in for service. i said no thanks It's not a computer, it has to be a flashlight. You know that if the light goes out, you can change the light bulb if necessary. They said not this one, it has an LED…

The intensity of this light is just amazing.

Recently I went down to the mailboxes in our area long before sunrise. I brought this flashlight with me because without a flashlight it's hard to see what's down there, there are deer in the neighborhood and recently there have been reports of two large coyotes roaming the area. Honestly, I don't want to come across any of the animal species. Maglight has a good weight and gives me a sense of security. And it's light. Did I say light? It's penetrating. I could clearly see things on the blocks…

Maglite 4-D Cell Attitude Adjuster: Black

We've been buying Maglites since they've been a staple on law enforcement's duty belts. I have several Maglite flashlights in my arsenal. Aside from the obvious uses, a version of the 4D Cell is kept in my truck under the seat for use in roadside emergencies and even for protection from people - a good 'knock' to the head with this flashlight works wonders for a troubled person. It's also good for removing a crazy driver's side mirror, which will later help identify his car when they cause…

  • Alright!
Cons
  • No Power

Very good, simple LED flashlight.

Maglite D dual-element LED flashlight, black I have a few small LED lights, but I was looking for a long-life D-element flashlight for the home and garden, primarily for use during long power outages AMZ had these 2 D-Cell Maglights on sale so I bought one for the house and one for the car. It turned out to be a really good impulse buy. Even with only two D cells, this is not an EDC flashlight. It has a high and low brightness setting that you can access by toggling the light on and off to…

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Reliability

I have owned Maglites of all sizes and types for many years. The only thing that killed them was a battery leak from a couple brands of alkaline batteries dying prematurely, Duracell has been the worst of them lately. One reviewer stated that he dropped the flashlight and it broke, another that the lens was fragile. Believe it or not, tonight as I held this new 4 element flashlight and my old 3 element Maglite LED outside to photograph the rays (see attached photos) I threw them onto the cement

Pros
  • Knurled diamond design with a powerful jet that shifts from point to flood with just a half turn of the head
Cons
  • There are flaws

Even good brand name batteries leak and ruin the light.

I bought this flashlight about 6 months ago. I don't remember what brand of battery it had when it arrived, but a few months later I switched batteries to Duracells. He lived in a box (horizontal) in the kitchen, in an air conditioner and in a completely dry place. Yesterday I pulled it out to look behind the fridge and it didn't work. I removed the back cover and the batteries leaked and ruined the light. Try as I might, I couldn't get the batteries out. Realizing it was beyond repair, I…

  • Impact and water resistant premium flashlight known for its quality, durability and reliability

They're built like tanks, waterproof

Let's start shopping first by pointing out the key facts about these first generation stores. value for money. Mages earned that reputation from day one, so for that reason alone, they haven't changed to this day. Why change what ain't broken? net.upgrade bulbs, lenses, seals, switches, etc. now one very, very important fact that I see neither written nor mentioned. Because when your batteries run out, just replace them and you're good to go. If your lights are rechargeable, you're screwed if…
