Makita Lock Nut works great

I bought these to use with my Makita 4 1/2" grinder. Makita 543036-3 is also available from Revain at a great price. This lock nut has a size 5/ 8" as described and genuine Makita quality. Works perfectly.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • There are new competitors

Fits Makita 7 " Grinder/Sander

I don't know why Makita doesn't include this as a standard part of the tool. The price is too high but it's decent quality and does the job. That's what it's designed for, note that the wrench advertised is not correct for this nut, it can be used but it will not fit the nut as intended.

Pros
  • Trial for one year
Cons
  • I'll write later

Not bad but needs some work.

Unlike previous tools of this type, the edges of this tool are thick and do not go into the groove of the rubber seal. This can cause the nut to scratch the work if you're not careful with the angle or force. I need to enlarge and deepen the recess on the rubber gasket to be able to tighten this nut better.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Good, but not great

Quality Locknut - Axle

I bought this locknut to attach a rubber sanding pad because the Makita 9237CX2 polisher/sander didn't come with one and I wanted to be able to use an alternative method of attachment. Polishing or grinding wheel for my Makita polishing/grinding machine. This lock nut works great and easily secures the rubber seal. This lock nut should last as long as a polisher/grinder, if not longer. My only complaint would be the price but you get what you pay for, quality over quantity.

Pros
  • Satisfied for now
Cons
  • Not sure

Well made but not cheap.

Not much to say about the small component that attaches the sanding disc or buffing cap to the Makita sanding block - it's well made (which is what you need). d expected from a top-notch power tool maker), and the locking system works well (you really need the 'special' wrench that comes with the Edge Grinder - there's no slot for a screwdriver, just holes around the disc for the Wrench fits. ) - my only nitpicks - the price seems high for something as simple and easy to make as this - I think…

Pros
  • 2.9 x 4.8 x 1 in.
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors
