WORKS GREAT for powering a USB 3.0 card

I used this in conjunction with a SATA power splitter to power a USB 3.0 card in a customer's Optiplex 360 minitower. The Dell Optiplex 360 has NO free power connectors when 2 optical drives and 2 hard drives are installed. I haven't seen any 4-pin power connectors. To access the SATA power connector I used an AFUNTA 6" SATA Power Y-splitter to split the power to one of the optical drives and it worked great too! 4-pin Molex connectors are securely connected. Low Quality SATA Adapter End

Molex connections were reliable, but the SATA connection was the cause of this product's failure. Out of the package, the various electrical prongs on the SATA connector were bent up and down and had to be manually bent back so that they were all flat enough to fit into the power supply's SATA connector. I did this carefully with my thumbnail. Also the tips of the contacts were jagged and looked like a histogram. Before hooking it up to the system I bought it for, I tested it on a spare PSU…

Molex to SATA, lose all your data (and possibly your home)

Molex to SATA, lose all your data (and possibly your home). And yes, that's an actual sentence that I didn't make up. I'm usually pretty level headed and try not to dig into the little things when it comes to nitpicking. However, when I see the flow of sour, viscous rage, I see cheap design putting your data, expensive electronics, and most importantly, people, at risk.
