Easy to use good combination brush for Asian style painting!

I needed a large Chinese brush to paint lotus leaves and I was pleasantly surprised that this brush can also paint textured branches or bamboo stalks. This is a good brush for the price.

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • Not as good as advertised

what size is it? on Pens & Refills

the pictures say 4.13 inches you assume it's inches and 10.5 cm confirms the brush is actually 3.5 inches about the correct width can't decide whether I want to return it or use it at its smaller size which is much smaller than advertised

Pros
  • Brilliantly made
Cons
  • Expandable

The brush is good for what I need it for

The brush is good for what I need it for, however the handle is plastic two parts that need to be joined together and the threads should be cleaned. I epoxidized it together and it works quite well. You get what you pay for I guess.

Pros
  • Great for Chun Lian / Duilian (vertical writing), painting, watercolor and more
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous

Calligraphy brush Feedback

Delivery was fast, package arrived well packaged. The brush is exactly as described, the bristles of the brush are soft, there are no protruding ends. The hairs on the handle were red, and the brush took on a conical shape when wet. I haven't practiced with a brush yet, but I'll try the brush soon. In general I am satisfied with the brush.- Supereat

Pros
  • Jian Hao (goat and wolf hair). Diameter 3 cm (1.18 inch). Hair Length: 9.5cm (3.7 inch). Weight 99 g 3.2 oz
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Monster brush for big juicy washes.

This is a MONSTER brush. I bought this for both sumi-e and traditional watercolor painting. Smooth washes on large paper are no problem. I only have one "wet test" on blotting paper, but a very good one. Plan to mix large pools of paint for this. The photo gives an idea of how big this brush is. I will update this review after using it for a while. There always seems to be a break in the period with brushes. The horn handle is beautiful.

Pros
  • ABOUT HAIR LOSS: With a NEW brush of this size, hair loss is normal. It's not about bad quality. (Read more below).
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
