My ideal wallet for men

With this purchase I bought the Maxpedition Keyper. Both are very strong, durable and high quality products. This wallet is my first "minimalist" wallet and it exceeded my expectations. The sleek, minimalist design and durable materials are great. I emptied my old triple wallet and couldn't believe how much crap I'm carrying around. I put all the cards I need every day in my wallet along with some bills and everything fits perfectly. In fact, I still have a little more room for more bills…

Pros
  • The best in its niche
Cons
  • Almost everything is included

Mixed quality from two manufacturing partners

Beware of quality differences between products from Vietnam and those from Taiwan. My previous experience with Maxpedition shows that Vietnam made units are of mixed quality (lower quality fabric and loose weave, cut and finish mismatch) while Taiwan made units are premium. I've confirmed the legitimacy of the product (they now make legacy gear at both locations) but I'm not at all happy with what's coming out of Vietnam. Pictured are brown purses from Vietnam. The purse shown in leaf green is…

Small, Functional, Durable (Review not in sale/advertisement)

TLDR; This is my new favorite wallet that I use every day and I will without a doubt buy it again. Bought because I needed a small easy to use wallet that fits nicely in my front pocket. This will be my main wallet for everyday use, while the larger one that I use when needed holds my lesser used credit cards, membership cards, and various other cards. As I had hoped, this baby is just what I needed. The internal clear plastic slot easily fits my driver's license and subway card. The plastic…

Slim and tidy! for men

UPDATE 5 years: used daily. Daily. Daily. This wallet will DEFINITELY last for 5 more! Photos added - removed my ID for obvious reasons. But seriously, check - we're talking 5 years of daily use. Looks like new! Leather doesn't hold up that well, I can't think of a better material. I'm surprised that the Clear ID window is still clear and flexible. UPDATE: 2.5 years of daily use. Looks like it happened after a month of use. Durable material. The Clear ID panel is holding up well. Very happy…

Simplify, simplify, simplify again

As someone else wrote, very "tactile-cool" and a great way to kick a rock out of your pocket. I booked this for a holiday (lots of walking, hiking etc) and it fit the bill quite well. The only problem I had was that the license stayed securely packaged with the license. It looks like a simple Velcro or locking tab would have worked here, as my right hand fell out every time I opened it. What I ended up doing was taking off one of those clear, soft rubber discs that keep my energy neatly…

Small, compact and durable

I had never heard of Maxpedition Gear until I bought one of their "Tritium" keychains (I've since bought two more). I was so impressed with the keychain that I looked at their other products. I was looking for a very small, compact and durable wallet and it seemed to fit the bill. A while back I switched to a very thin leather case that only fits three credit cards, two ID cards and a couple of insurance cards - all really "critical" things. However, this still required me to carry a few…

This is a great minimalist wallet

This is a great minimalist wallet. It contains several cards, an ID or two, and some cash. No back pain on long journeys. DO NOT buy this if you're the type of guy who carries dozens of business cards next to 12 packs of condoms. They just don't fit. My only complaint is the viewing window/pocket. It is in no way designed to fit any standard ID card size. I use it to save three different maps, which seems to help. A sewn-in rubber loop solves the problem. Update = 6-15-16 Ok I will be upgrading

Pros
  • Acceptable
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Quality is excellent but functionality could be better.

I consider the Maxpedition to be of a higher standard than most manufacturers. Their quality is second to none and the thought that goes into the development of their product is usually accurate. With the relatively recent launch of minimalist wallets, there are bound to be some bumps along the way. While many reviews have addressed the benefits of this wallet, I will express my hopes for the "next version". "Come on: 1. Width: The wallet is approximately 0.25" wider than it should be. This…
