Ideal for bike rack adapter

Used to attach our bike rack to my truck's hitch. Moved 3 bikes from the East Coast to the Midwest with no problems. Obviously adding another coupler will create extra play, but that's not the part's fault - you should expect play and learn how to attach it securely anyway.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Crumpled

Very loose fit for receiver

This adapter fits the coupler so loosely it rattles and wobbles back and forth. We have used it as a bike rack but the rack wobbles and rattles back and forth when riding. I think you could probably squeeze a coin in the gap between this adapter and the hitch. It must come with a gap adapter.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Nothing here

Great converter/extender

I have a 2 inch clutch on my new Bronco. One of my bike racks has a 1-1/4" hitch. This converter and expander works great. It's quite long and very well built. The bike rack stays in place and doesn't move. This works much better than the shorter version that I bought at the hardware store.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Some small things

You get what you pay for!

You may think that this is the standard size for 2 inch receivers so they can make it tighter. but the bikes are rubbing against each other from all the shaking, now I have to look for a solution to make it tighter.

Pros
  • weight
Cons
  • boring packaging

Super coupling adapter!

Bought to extend my bike rack behind my Jeep's fifth wheel. Great solid adapter, fits perfectly in my 2" receiver with 5/8" pin. The photo shows the stabilizer bar attached, but I probably didn't need it, just wanted to be sure, so I ordered both. The hitch adapter does not come with a pin, so be sure to buy one.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Not sure

Poor quality clutches

Price per piece speaks for itself. The welds appear to have been made by a 5 year old, the 1 1/4 pipe insert is welded slightly crooked. (see pic) That being said if I bought it from a nearby store I would take it back but really not worth shipping it and waiting for another one. I will keep it and only use it as an adapter for my bike rack. As others have pointed out, it also wobbles a bit. Hope that helps

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Small change

If you have a Yakima TwoTimer bike rack. Note!

Just got back from riding around LA on the freeways on my 60 pound electric bike on a Yakima TwoTimer bike rack (see full flies a few times.... very unstable and very scary. So here it is What You Need : Maxxhaul Model 70033 Hitch Adapter.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Lots of Stuff

Conveniently from 1/4 " to 2 ". No rattling!

I was looking for an adapter to fit a bike rack to a 2" hitch mount. It looked like a good deal for the price, but it did add 7 inches to the strut that sticks out of the bumper. I had to hand cut it and tell you it's a tough piece of metal. It's perfect that it doesn't move at all, the whole van moves when I try. It is connected to the receiver. 5 stars if they are shorter. It works, great product.

Pros
  • Enjoyable
Cons
  • Older model
