you are doing great work the best loading ramps

If you want to build ramps for your pickup truck these are perfect. Just in case you've never built ramps before, measure the distance from the bed of your truck to the ground and multiply that measurement by 4. That's how long your ramps should be. Works every time.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Slightly dented

Great price but a bit limited.

They're cheap, easy to install and have helped me fit a nearly 300 pound snow blower into my truck. However, the manual states that you must attach them to the truck, but doesn't say how to do it, and doesn't provide a way to do it. What I did was insert anchor bolts into the bottom of my 2 x 8 and then use them to attach the ramps to the truck with bungee cords.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Requires some replacement parts and possibly more

Hardware is mediocre at best. I personally replaced the "cheap" carriage bolts, nuts and added some large diameter heavy duty washers! Otherwise it works, or you can get it running with a little fumbling. For example, cut off the aluminum end of the ramp about an inch - depending on your ramp angle. If I were to do this I would add the details above and make a loop for the ramp/aluminum piece to fit at any angle. Oh!

Why spend $30+ when you can get it for $16?

I don't know why this aluminum ramp kit model isn't the most popular with the same 700lb max weight as the others? This kit works great if you follow the directions to the tee. The only modification I recommend is to cut the 2x8 stub end at a 15 degree angle (see photo) to eliminate gaps, apply Loctite before tightening the nuts, and use a sander to trim off any excess shorten the screw length. I installed eyebolts on the bottom of each board so I could attach them to my pickup hitch.

Great idea unfinished by Motorcycle & Powersports

These ramps are great. But that's not the case. They aren't angled enough so you're either using a very long ramp (much longer than you need for a dirt bike) or the ramp doesn't sit flat on the truck/trailer bed. In fact, it sticks out so far that when the bike is unloaded, the tire doesn't roll over the edge, but instead pushes it back, causing the ramp to fall down. Too bad, because these top ramps are very strong and very reasonably priced. For reference, I ended up trimming the lip a full…

Easy install, solid construction

I ended up buying a second set. The first set I installed on a set of 2"x 8" boards as they were meant to be used. Now I'm surprised at how much I use them, although the original intention was to ride a lawn tractor on them so I could get to the blades easily. (yes, a cheap lawn tractor, not one of those fancy machines you can move). Worked great. I use them more than I expected to load and unload heavy things into an SUV. The aluminum kit is easy to install and reliable. Unexpectedly, the…

Get ready to get your nuts/bolts ready!

Although the ends of the aluminum ramps appear to be well finished, the included accessories are not suitable for attaching planks. The carriage bolts were too long, but it was a wise choice. The problem occurred when connecting the carriage bolt to the lock nut. The resistance of the locknut, preventing it from loosening, forces the carriage bolt to turn long before the bolt shoulders can be pulled into the wood. And when driving a carriage bolt into wood, there is still enough resistance from

The same great product at a lower price than other suppliers.

Like other aluminum ramps but at a great price. Supplied with screws, self-adhesive rubber pads (only to protect chromed or painted surfaces) and socket pins. I used my own zinc plated bolts and washers with nylock nuts. I cut the 2x8 studs at a 16ΒΊ angle (yes, that's 16 degrees, not 15 degrees as others have mentioned), then glued them flush. You don't have to do this, the instructions show that a straight cut 2x8 bolt can have a large gap between the aluminum and still meet the load specs…
