I ended up buying a second set. The first set I installed on a set of 2"x 8" boards as they were meant to be used. Now I'm surprised at how much I use them, although the original intention was to ride a lawn tractor on them so I could get to the blades easily. (yes, a cheap lawn tractor, not one of those fancy machines you can move). Worked great. I use them more than I expected to load and unload heavy things into an SUV. The aluminum kit is easy to install and reliable. Unexpectedly, the neighbors lend them out from time to time. I bought a second set, cut them in half and installed them on 2" x 4" boards which I use in pairs to move lighter loads, usually in and out of some kind of sub floor that is half the basement.
