I didn't think there would be a huge difference, but the design of the applicator gives full coverage of the brush so you don't have to pop the brush in and out of the applicator to get full mascara coverage on the brush . This was a big disappointment! I wore Great Lash as a kid and loved it. Maybelline seems to have discontinued my favorite mascara, so I decided to try Great Lash with this nifty new brush. What a big disappointment! I confess I only tried it once but it was so wet! It didn't add volume, had very little lengthening, and was so wet it was clumpy as if you had wet lashes. Straight into the trash! I found a few tubes of my favorite on ebay to keep me going until I find a new mascara.

I've been using Great Lash regularly for YEARS and this is the best combination of formula and brush they have. I've been using this mascara since it first went on sale. I hate the look of overly thick clumpy lashes and this was the answer to my prayers! Adds lots of volume while still looking natural, and (best of all) the brush easily removes any small clumps that you might notice. I'm always trying new mascaras and I keep coming back to Maybelline. For me everything in it is better than other mascaras. It definitely lasts longer than what you get in a tube. It seems to apply thicker than the mascara, which gets out of the way with oddly shaped brushes etc. I love this no-frills classic Great Lash. I gave it a 4 because it doesn't make my lashes look like models. :)
