Make sure it's right for your condition!

Elevator is ok. I get up in old age and my knees are worn out. I was hoping this would help, but it doesn't. That doesn't mean it's poorly made and useful in other conditions, just that the cartilage doesn't wear down with age. I knew it might not help before I bought it, so the decision was mine with full knowledge that it might not help. It's probably best to seek advice from a therapist or doctor to determine if it's helpful for the condition.

INACCURACY OF THE SIZE CHART

The size chart in the post is completely inaccurate. I have already ordered this product twice. Size XL was listed as 17-20 inches in circumference and 6 inches above and below the kneecap. Me and 20 inches. Ordered XL. I couldn't get over my knee. No harm, no foul, reordered 2XL, which shows a size of 20-20 inches in the picture in the post. Should be right. Just received 2XL. Still too small, and the size chart on the box shows 2XL as 17-20 inches. It's just ridiculous and I've spent 2 more…

Great support - orthosis runs small

Today I used this knee orthosis for the first time. I'm about 185 pounds and 5-8 and the Large fits my foot very well. Honestly I should have bought XL. Because it's so tight, it severely limits my ability to bend my leg. Get a size larger than you think you need - measurements asked to be taken around your knee will not result in a correctly sized knee brace. Dimensions aside, the brace works great. I didn't have any sore muscles today after about an hour of hard tennis training.

Excellent support for zero ventilation and a VERY serious design flaw.

I really liked this knee orthosis. It was very comfortable, very adaptable and very supportive. BUT, it has absolutely NO ventilation, it's very thick and very hot. Sweated a lot underneath. But the big problem is the seam on the right side of the braces. It runs down the sides and slots in from the bottom, and INSIDE the top and bottom of the brace creates a point of friction that actually caused open sores on my leg after only wearing it twice. It was so bad I had to send it back. Luckily…

This is the only way I can walk unaided

In January I injured my knee climbing the stairs and was waiting to see the doctor. It's March now. I went to the emergency room and was told they couldn't treat knees. Needless to say, I've been SOL for several months. I have tried several solutions and this is the only one that allows me to walk without a crutch. I hope this helps my knee to heal by the time I go to the doctor in two weeks. April update: I finally saw a family doctor and an orthopedist. Both commented on how good this knee…

They made the new Velcro SHORT

The old McDavid knee pads as shown here were the BEST. The last straps are TOO SHORT! I've been wearing McDAVID PANTS IN THIS SIZE for 5 years - every single day - and the straps that attached to the bottom velcro straps WERE MORE 8-9 inches long or longer - now they're there 4 inches so they DON'T stay attached to the Velcro. It does NOT offer the protection that those of us with terrible knee pain need. No other brand can match OLD McDavid with longer straps! I have no idea what I'm going to…

I read other reviews complaining about the size. .

I have read other reviews complaining about the sizing. I think the measurements are correct. It felt a bit tight to me when I first got it, but loosened up a bit over time. Also, it's the "compression" part of the RICE acronym, so what you really want is for it to be a bit tight. My biggest criticism of this brace is that it gathers behind the knee. Just as there is "lightness" in the patella, there must be some kind of lightness (cut material) behind the knee. If you bend your knee too much…

Pros
  • Latex free thermal compression neoprene
Cons
  • Not all will fit

I've been using the corset for a few weeks now. A little background: I tore my cruciate ligament 7 years ago and had it replaced less than a year ago. So I went back to normal activities a few months ago and am now back to martial arts 2-3 days a week. I was looking for something that could offer a little protection and peace of mind. Overall it looks like a good fit for a neoprene bandage. It's a little longer than some of the other braces I've had in the past and I love it about it. The…
