🗑️ mDesign Plastic Round Trash Can: Small Wastebasket with Swing-Close Lid for Home & Office - 1.3 Gallon Review

Be careful - the part that holds the lid and bucket together is a very brittle plastic. I ordered 2 and one came broken. I'm sending both back because I'm sure the other one won't last long.

This is a cute little bin. It was securely packaged and I had no issues with the lid not working or cracking. When the container is about 3/4 full the lid can sometimes get stuck in the open position, which makes sense to me because you're pushing the lid down into the container where it meets friction. For me it's just a reminder to take the junk out on a sensible schedule rather than playing the cautious jenga game with the junk.

I read all the negative reviews but still chose this one because it's the best design I could find. (I'd love to see someone make this out of ceramic and teak!) I opened the box and turned it upright, the lid fell into the canister and the leg of the lid that was resting on the inner pin broke off. I used super glue and it was on the back. I'll oil it so it's not brittle, maybe I'll tape the back somehow to strengthen it as it's a very thin wood and hope for the best.

I needed a small bin that would fit on my stairs and I wanted it to be pretty. I almost gave up trying to find a "pretty little bin" but then I found this one and it's perfect! I really love the trash can because it's so cute and the flip top lid is so handy! Exactly what I was looking for! *** UPDATE: Very sad to say it only lasted about a week and a half before the lid broke. One of the small plastic pins that hold the lid in place and allow it to flip has broken off completely.

I bought this bin to use under the sink to collect rubbish. I wanted something small enough to fit in a supermarket bag. I use these packs to line the trash can. It's perfect for that need. I take out the trash at least once a day so I don't have to worry about smells. I threw away the bamboo case - I don't need it. Bought it for its compact size and for bathroom use. Very disappointed that the lid doesn't "rock". After you press it with your finger to open it, it just stays open. I was expecting it to close by itself. no You have to use your finger again to close it. It's also disappointing that there's no obvious place to press to open the lid, and since it only opens one way it may take a few tries. This garbage can is just bad. It's hard to fail when developing such a simple product; Garbage can. The lid is VERY sharp, so don't do anything crazy like get your fingers too close to it, and also wear heavy chain gauntlets when trying to "empty" the container. Which brings me to the next point.
