This is great for measuring yourself and the retractor is very handy. It also clicks every inch, but it's loud. I would like to measure myself at night without waking up the people in the next room, please.

Works great. Pull back quickly and clearly. The only annoyance I have is that I often want to drag it longer after pressing the button to lock it. When I do that, it lets me through for a short distance before all of a sudden it starts putting up a lot of resistance and making horrible clicking noises that make me think I've broken it. But then I press the button again and it pulls in and out flawlessly.

I'm trying to save 5 stars for perfect products. This product is pretty excellent overall so far. However, I've only used it once. This tape measure has a locking mechanism that closes about every 1 and 1/3 inches, making it easy to find the right length without fumbling with a very long strip. The retractable part of the tape measure is pretty solid and if you retract it without holding it it will whip quite hard and stab me a bit as it smacks my arm!
