Description of Medi Achilles tendon fixation bandage Medi Achimed III
Ankle bandage for stabilization of the Achilles tendon with a silicone insert. Used for bruises and inflammation of the Achilles tendon.
Achimed - an ankle brace with a silicone pad is used for bruises and inflammation of the Achilles tendon. In this condition, the patient often experiences such severe pain that he cannot wear shoes.
The bandage helps to cope with this problem: it contains a special silicone insert on the back surface, which protects the Achilles tendon and fixes it in the correct position, and also dampens the impact when walking. Included with the bandage are two heel pads that raise the heel and thereby reduce the painful tension of the Achilles tendon.
The use of this brace allows people with an inflamed Achilles tendon to wear shoes. When the inflammation begins to decrease, the patient may temporarily remove the heel pads to allow the Achilles tendon to better adapt to the initial level of stress.
Indications
Acute and chronic inflammation of the Achilles tendon. Post-traumatic and postoperative inflammation of the Achilles tendon. Achillodynia. Achilles bursitis.
Contraindications
Arterial occlusions, phlebitis, venous ulcers, condition after vein thrombosis.
Operating principle
The compression cloth and silicone liner massage the joint area to promote healing. Soft silicone liner protects the Achilles tendon. Removable heel pads reduce painful tension of the Achilles tendon, as the therapeutic effect is achieved, it is possible (at the direction of the doctor) to temporarily remove the heel pads, which will allow the Achilles tendon to adapt to the initial level of stress.
Peculiarities
The bandage is designed taking into account the anatomical proportions of the joint and is equipped with a sewn-in silicone insert in the area of the Achilles tendon. Highly elastic, breathable and moisture-wicking Clima Comfort fabric. The special technology of seamless knitting (comfort zone) in the instep of the foot prevents excessive compression and microcirculation disturbance. Removable heel pads reduce painful strain on the Achilles tendon (use them under both heels to equalize leg length).
