Cleaning the chimney once a year is enough! I really hated going up on the roof and cleaning the chimney every month. Now once a year! I can wait until April or May, no ice under my feet, no frost, no slipping to my death.

I love this product and have been using it for several years. I will buy again. However, my poor rating is solely based on the fact that my container arrived "open" and the material was poured into the box. I just poured it back into the container and used it. I burn a lot of wood and find these products greatly reduce creosote build up.

I have had this product for a month now and am using it as directed. I have always monitored creosote build up monthly by opening the chimney sweep door and rotating the mirror so I can see the creosote build up. After using this product for its intended purpose for a month, the accumulation will be significantly less than usual. Thing seems to be working.

We have a soapstone wood stove. Have used both Rutland and Meeco's. This one is better for our stove and pipe. Our stainless pipe comes straight out the back of the stove and wall and then runs outside into the house. Very prone to creosote buildup, especially when it's not that cold outside and you can't make a roaring fire.... especially in a soapstone stove! Rutland didn't really do much but one scoop of Meeco's Red Devil and all the creosote comes out right away, even on the glass :-) Love…

This product really works! Creosote had built up in my chimney making it difficult to get the cleaning brush down. I then started using Meeco's Red Devil creosote destroyer: the first thing I noticed was that the chimney was much easier to clean than no filling when cleaning the chimney. My only regret is that I didn't order a larger bath. If you're burning maple or any other wood that may not be fully seasoned, give this material a try.

As mentioned the price should include a plastic measure to insert into the chimney, I just used a Rutland cleaner. After using the Rutland brand last year, I noticed a lot of creosote flaking off when I cleaned the chimney, so these cleaners are really having a positive impact. I finally started using the product because I didn't want to cut through the plastic shrink wrap the seller was using to hold the powdery mass that came out of the container. Then I saw that this product was returned and there was ashes and pieces of cardboard. I got ripped off.
