Excellent solution for general photography for its price. The flash is a bit harsh so in my case maybe not so much for macro photography but for a portrait. It still can't compete with a high-end flash ring when it comes to proper light spread.

Excellent macro flash. It worked flawlessly with my D610 and 105mm VR. I used to have SB-29, it was much more expensive. This eruption did not disappoint me from day one. If you had a Nikon lens and needed it for microphotography in dermatology and dentistry, that would be ideal.

I'm a really good option for macro photography, works just as expected if not better! Perfect fit for Nikon 7200 and very easy to install and remove. does not rotate as much, but this does not affect the functionality of the flash.

Very affordable solution, easy to install. The downside is that the instructions are not complete in terms of settings. They tell you how to set up the device, but you are essentially responsible for how the settings actually affect the outcome. Experimentation is key.

I just received the flash. It's been a day since I first used it and everything is great, when I turn it on for the second time I notice that it has a black spot on the ring. The problem is that it has never been dropped and used for its intended purpose. So I'm not really happy with it, I just hope the black spot doesn't get bigger.

Excellent product. I work in a dentist's office and we take pictures of the inside and outside of the mouth. We had issues with the last ring flash we had. This one is quick to recycle and the amount of light you get from this little ring is phenomenal. I highly recommend it. I wanted to buy a macro flash without spending a lot of money on a Nikon flash as I use super telephoto for wildlife or wide angle for landscapes for most of my shots. Well I really like this macro flash. A flash can go from nuclear when using extension tubes or lenses on top of each other and losing a lot of light, to invisible when shooting with just the camera and lens. Build quality is tough, definitely doesn't feel cheap. I really like the lamp function where I have to be directly over the subject and have no light to feel focused. I've just finished my first session with Nikon's MEKE-MK-14EXT-N I-TTL Macro Ring Flash. I've read that it's best to buy the version designed for your camera and the flash seems to work great with the lens.
