Perfect for Operation Santa! (OCC)

Comparatively Excellent! It's hard to find a sketchbook with nice white smooth paper made out of something solid! It's not regular newsprint, but it's much thicker and nicer. I'm proud to use them in my OCC Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes! 😊

Pros
  • Inspires Confidence
Cons
  • Repair

the size of a shorthand book (what you jot down in the office)

I didn't know it was small. Good quality but not for toddlers/preschoolers who draw BIG things and write their names BIG. This is more for a middle-class student who wants to paint for car trips. The brand fooled me that it is for young children. but my 5 year old twins complain that he is so small mommy :/ my 12 year old is fine with that!

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Too thin to paint.

The paper sheets in these tablets are thinner than our Target printer paper! Super disappointed. When trying to use watercolors the pages didn't hold up at all. Printer Paper Help! We do, however, love Melissa and Doug's mini notebooks. These sheets are much thicker and have a perforated edge. I recommend skipping this step and using character blocks.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • There are disadvantages

Not a good price, best in arts and crafts

I bought these pads for Operation Christmas Child. They were the perfect size to fit in the box. However, they were a little thin on paper (50 sheets) for the cost per notebook. The photos show the pad in the shoe box and the pad on the side / how thick it is. If you're looking for something small, that's fine, but if you just want a good paper notebook for kids to draw with, I think you can find something better.

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • No instructions

Good size good product

My daughter paints all the time. She ended up using all the computer printer paper we had and I bought her this. she loves them I like the smaller size because it doesn't waste a whole sheet of paper on a small drawing in the middle, and the notebook keeps all of her drawings together so I don't have to throw them out every day lest they pile up and break. her little heart.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Reliable

Perfect for Kids - Arts & Crafts

My 6 year old granddaughter loves to draw and gets a lot of practice. that means she goes through a lot of paper. They're perfect for what she does because they're relatively small, meaning that when one sheet fills up, she's ready to move on to the next anyway. Small enough to fit in a book bag, to take with you in the car, or simply to manage at the kitchen table, they are larger than a notepad but smaller than a notepad. They are perfect for a child.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • So So

Against my better judgment I followed Melissa and Doug's recommendation that this is a great pillow for 3, 4 and 5 year olds. Boy they were wrong, wrong, wrong. Preschoolers bring their whole bodies into the drawing - they lean, lean and actually become one with the paper and the tabletop. Also, most of them hold a crayon or marker in their fist, which means they paint with broad strokes and wiggle motions. They just aren't ready to develop or draw in tight spaces. In addition, these pages are…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for seniors
