My son loves this! - Dollhouses

My nearly four year old boys love to pretend. We knew he'd love a traditional dollhouse, but we were looking for a more gender-neutral one. This one is absolutely perfect. The set included a small family of dolls and some furniture which was a nice bonus. It has a nice garage and an elevator that is a great success. Our son has played with it every day since Christmas. Great toy and I am delighted that Melissa and Doug have released a gender neutral traditional "girl toy". cool cool!

Read Review Best Dolls Houses

This Melissa and Doug dolls house doesn't have the quality the name suggests. First bought with 40% discount. I thought I stole something. Now for the cons. I have several numbers where the wood doesn't match the back. Also, if you overtighten the screws, the lift will not work. Finally, the car, which is a complement to the dollhouse, was discontinued. Why is the dollhouse still around and not the car? Now I know why I got a good deal. I have a dollhouse because my kids are all in it. My kids…

Very poor build quality

This product was a big disappointment. I am a professional play therapist and was keen to add this dollhouse to my play therapy room. However, the product was a disaster. I couldn't get past the first assembly step because part of the floor had been cut out so that it wasn't flush with the house walls and couldn't be fixed with the supplied fittings. When attempting step 1, the side frames began to fall apart - very poor glue or gluing technique; Still much lower quality than I'm used to from…

Great toy - follow tips to avoid disappointment when building

Awesome toy, a few building tips that will make you just as happy as your child. , you should be able to install other parts of the floor. I preferred to attach all the floor pieces with a loose screw to hold them in place and then tighten everything. See directions for E, D, F, and G as they will only fit with a deep cut forward. Follow the tips and instructions so you won't be tempted to throw this adorable toy off your own roof. We added all sorts of items from other toys that should fill…

The perfect gender neutral home for a boy and all his cars!

I bought this for my son for his 3rd birthday a few weeks ago. I noticed that he regularly plays with his friends in kindergarten with his "home", with cars, animals, whatever he can play with. I wanted something open (so he could use his imagination) and gender neutral, with some bells and whistles a boy would like. It has a mobile garage and elevator, furniture and (slightly creepy) people, and he LOVES it. With all his cars and trains in and around him, he has become a home for cars, and he…

Great house, with a small damage. But overall very satisfied.

I bought this house for my 2.5 year old son. I spent a lot of time comparing this house to the almost identical Hape house. One thing I didn't like about the Hape house was the "empty" space underneath. Where this house has a garage, Hape's house has a panel half the height of the garage door with some trees on it. The space behind the panel cannot be used for games unless you use it as a basement - storage room! :) My son loves the garage option in this house and I liked that all the space is…

Be patient: <1 hour build time = potential game years

ASSEMBLY- If you put together flat furniture from a certain Swedish company with an Allen key, a screwdriver and a healthy dose of patience, it takes less than an hour. - Use a screwdriver to align the barrel nuts. - Use tape to prevent them from falling out during assembly. One dropped out three times in a row. After that, I uttered more than three selected sentences. - Do not fully tighten the screws until all shelves are in place. I needed some leeway to get things right. QUALITY - Durable…

it should be more durable, have more content

I only give three stars because for the price it should have been much better. The box looked like someone had sent it back, the top and bottom were sealed with tape, the box also seemed flimsy. It was a present for my granddaughter. I took the parts out thinking that for $110 it should feel sturdier and have more substance. It reminded me of my son's scouting derby car. I felt that the tree could easily break. It was my granddaughter's birthday, how can I send this back and get a new one that…
