EDIT: I felt it necessary to add two stars to my original rating because 1) The first thing my husband said when trying on the socks was "They are so comfortable!" 2) ( We share socks) After wearing them for a few weeks I have to agree that they are very comfortable and the ones I prefer to others in my drawer. Finally found a winner

Every fall I buy my son new wool socks because he works outside. Every year he complains: too hot, too itchy, too thin, but the other day we folded the laundry and he took his socks and said I was fine with them. We don't have snow yet so time will tell but I have a milestone, he likes it.

Comfortable but short and thin

These socks are very comfortable with a very soft seam in the toe area that is not too annoying. The landing is not generous. I wear women's 9's and they fit me perfectly. Someone with a much larger foot will likely find them uncomfortable. They are thin on all sides and the "soft sole" they talk about in the info is almost non-existent. I see no difference between top and bottom. They're also fairly short, hitting just above the ankle, not even mid-calf. It is difficult to determine the height
