Great shoes and comfortable shoes

Bought these Merrells for my eleven year old, ordered a size 6, his feet are about 9.5 inches long so they fit perfectly and leave some room. The laces are strong but a bit flimsy. So if your kids are used to regular sneaker laces, it will take them a few times to get used to them. Very happy with this purchase.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Great price

Cheap and poor quality Merrell travel products

Merrell seems to have dropped a lot in quality. My son tried on these hiking boots and the top loop came loose on both sides of the boot! If we didn't need the shoes right away I would send them back. But I have no choice but to leave them and hope they prove useful for our excursions. Very disappointed.

Great boot; but the lack of design doesn't make them worth buying. :(

I really like these boots. I had two but both pairs of tapes broke on the left leg just below the metal part within a month of ownership and I don't even wear them every day so that's a drag Untied after about 10 times and can't be used to secure laces, doesn't feel secure without it, without this design flaw they would be my favorite shoes.

Best first time biker among the girls

I went to the Grand Canyon with these shoes for the first time. I usually wear a size 3 for kids but my friend advised me to go up a size. So I got 3.5 and I'm glad I did. I had the opportunity to wear thin socks and thick socks with him. I noticed that my frets (or should I say) my toes were a little sore. I figured it was because I hadn't walked that much in ages. But after resting and walking further, they did not get sick. I'm glad I have this pair. You were amazing.

Comfortable waterproof boots that true to size

My 11 year old scout needed 7 wide waterproof walking boots which are hard to find as boys sizes usually end with 6 and mens sizes start with 8. So I was excited to find these dimensions in the middle. The quality is excellent and my son says they are comfortable from the start. No break-in period required. He wore them on a 9 mile camping trip and didn't even get a single blister. He said they were great and kept his feet dry. We'll see how long they last, but so far so good!

As expected

We bought these for our daughter for a recent hike. Unfortunately, the only option we could find in their size that looked like tough hiking boots was a brown color for boys. She didn't pay attention to the color at all. We chose size 11 for our 4.5 year old and they fit the growth well. They had great toe traction which helped her when climbing rocks. She splashed in the puddles and said her feet stayed dry. My only concern is that the laces feel flimsy and stretch a bit when we tie them…

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Available in white only

Great outdoor shoe

My son needed a size 6 hiking boot for his week at scout camp which is hard to find in stores. He tried on a pair of Merrell low trainers at a local store and they fit perfectly so I bought them from Revain. He wore them on a walk around the block before they were packed into his leg box, and he wore them every day at camp. He was thrilled that they were waterproof - last night there had been a heavy downpour at camp with a tornado warning (one landed 20 miles from camp) and when they were able
