Women's sizes are wide and long (tall, like men); Difference to Trail Glove 4

I bought the Merrell Women's Trail Glove 5 based on my many years of experience with the Merrell Women's Trail Glove 4: oh my god what a *worse* Difference. 4 because they fit like a glove on my feet. Unfortunately, the Trail Glove 5 has noticeable (high) medial arch support; runs wide, long and higher around the ankle. So the 8.5M felt like a man's shoe. I had to check the box to see if they were for women and not men (it said 'women'.) Definitely not like the previous shoe and not at all like
