It's cheap and crappy. The plastic in the clips and at the bottom of the stand is thin and therefore very fragile. A horizontal rail with a clip to hold you in place hangs away from the clip at the end so you lose track of which line you're on. NOT WORTH THE MONEY!

This item is not black; it's a tan and frankly a piece of junk! There were a few loose parts in the box - no idea what they were for and loose broken plastic parts in the packaging. The box was torn. Sent back unused.

This stand is pretty good. He can handle a huge stack of paper. It needs to be held in place when I remove one because you need to have some tape or a clip to hold the top of the papers in place. But the biggest problem is that it's not wide enough. The width is not 8.5 inches. It's 8 5/8 inches wide, which creates stability issues.

I use this for knitting charts and it has helped a lot. This allows me to place a book on top and keep the book open on the desired page(s). I have to use sticky notes to hide the lines I'm working on because the clip provided has a window too big to show just the line I'm working on.

Both the white and black versions say it has a detachable cord guide but the black does not. Maybe I should have guessed from the picture that it was shorter than the white, but I didn't. This is not the full height of the paper, so the paper will be folded. Also, the support bars on the bottom prevent the paper from falling out, but don't keep the paper straight. return mine.

It might have been good for my needs if it hadn't arrived broken. It's thick enough and seems durable. I planned to use it to hold my cross stitch pattern although the clip wasn't very strong. However, the senders seemed to know about it. A small glued piece at the bottom came off, the hinges bent at the bottom with metal pins. So I couldn't deploy to use.
