Easy Peezy is the best in automotive electronics

It was plug and play. I connected the blue wire to the blue/white remote control wire on the wiring harness. You can also connect it to red. I know this confuses many. I wish the antenna gain was a bit stronger but I own a VW and have had bad reception on various VWs with aftermarket radios so can't fault that part.

Powered by 14 W204 with Harman Kardon amp

Description is inaccurate. It says it doesn't work with my car but after I took the radio off and brought it in and looked at it the connector is identical. I took the risk and tried it and it worked exactly as it should. This is a great item if you are trying to assemble an aftermarket radio kit for the 2014 w204.

Only tape required

I also had background noise on radios until I wrapped tape and covered all surfaces of the metal cylinder. This removed background noise that was noticeable on talk radio stations like NPR. I borrowed this idea from the Metro website. The product on the Metra website has a plastic box instead of a metal finish. Now the radio sounds great!

Pros
  • Good assembly
Cons
  • Bad kit

Clear Sound: Car Electronics Accessories

Installed on my 2014 Jetta SE (2.0L, 5 speed manual). Works great, all right. With the radio Pioneer FH-X731BT. Remember to connect ground to this thing if you have noise on the line. I suspect a lot of the negative reviews here are either about cheap fakes being sold instead of the real ones, or they just don't know how to properly solder/crimp their wires.

waste of money and time.

Good: Simple and easy installation with 3 connectors, blue wire connects to antenna/accessory, one end to factory cable and the other to main unit. Added this to my 2012 VW Jetta with a Kenwood head unit and also the control module to retain steering and secondary display functionality. The Bad: Everything in my setup works great. next to this "amplified" antenna adapter. In fact, I had better reception without connecting an antenna. Well, direct statics. There are no instructions so I googled…

Works for MK2 Audi TT MMI - Enfig didn't work

I bought all the necessary cables from enfig including the antenna adapter for the Pioneer W4400NEX unit. My only problem was getting the radio to work. This adapter from Metra worked perfectly, although the picture is wrong. Previously all I got was static when no blue wire was connected to the blue antenna/amplifier power wires, or dead silence when the blue wire was connected. This adapter now installs the same way and delivers perfectly clear AM/FM radio. Please note that the image in the…

Great adapter - AV accessory

I bought a plug and play radio for my 12 Audi TT RS. The problem is that I believe the antenna adapter they sent with the unit was intended for a different market than the US/North America region. The adapter that came with my radio only fit two single plugs. Enter Metra40-EU56. It's basically the same as my radio but with a dual connector. The metal part in the middle is wrapped with soft foam. I took the radio out of the dash and plugged in the two-pronged connector. Put the antenna in the…
