Local source for Hammer Grips

Product as described and delivered quickly. Unfortunately the ax handle I used it on broke and I had to buy a new handle. It came with two pads for $9. They also had a pack for 50 cents. So probably a bit too expensive.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Minor issues

Perfect fit for the ax handle I made

Perfect fit for the ax handle I made. I tried making my own wedge but couldn't get the edges straight enough / kept breaking the tip while making them. For the price, it wasn't worth risking my crappy wedge skills for a grip I like.

Pros
  • nice item
Cons
  • Very expensive

Fixed my old ax!: Hand tools

Fixed my old ax! The local big stores didn't sell it. You have to buy a whole new grip. The ax head didn't match well with the handle I had, so I took it apart and needed a new wedge. This kit saved the day. Now all axes seem to be connected by fiber optics. My Weatherling Ax is ready for action.

Pros
  • Lasting test results
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Ideal for axes/axes

Perfect. I bought an old boys Collins ax at a flea market for $12. I got home and found the racket was loose. I ordered this set and was able to breathe new life into a 40-50 year old instrument. I look forward to using it for many years to come. The wedge of wood was larger than I needed, but it was easy to split with just a knife. Fine and straight-grained wood is split, clear and straight. A+

Exactly what I needed.

I had a hammer that I liked, but the handle started to dangle dangerously. I was about to throw it away when I thought maybe I could get some steel wedges to fix it. My first thought was that the renovation would cost more than it was worth. But I'm the type to cling to things that break and think that one day I'll be able to fix them so I don't have to throw them in the trash heap. So I searched the internet and this set of wedges was perfect for this repair and inexpensive too. I am very…

Good product but unfortunately not what I needed (own fault).

High quality wedges but I don't know much about wedge grips. I bought this for my SNAW1105 Viking ax when the wood was shrinking leaving the ax head loose. When these wedges arrived I immediately repaired the handle. I removed the head and began driving a wedge into the top of the shaft, and unfortunately the wood snapped when the wedge was not even an inch deep. The wedges are great quality but make sure you know what you are looking for when it matters most as I now have 3 useless wedges and…
