Know your product before you buy it.

This product is not compatible with Surface Notebook 2. The power cord and microport slots cannot be used at the same time, causing a serious problem. Choose wise. Not me.

Pros
  • Surface Connect Extension Cable (80 cm)
Cons
  • Modern

Pure OTHER. Microsoft is now just Chinese junk

So our company only uses surfaces up to Surface Pro 7. The overall quality of Microsoft products is miserable. Last year I bought 12 of these docks and only 3 of them are still active. The power adapter for the docking station is pure junk, and the plug that comes to the surface needs constant cleaning or your monitors and other accessories won't work. It's garbage. And it's overpriced rubbish. save your money

Pros
  • 2 USB-A rear
Cons
  • don't know anymore

DOES NOT support dual monitors

Ordered from Microsoft Store and returned. This dock does NOT support dual monitors with Surface Books. It supports an external display in combination with a laptop screen, but if you have a dual external monitor setup, this dock won't work for you. DO NOT buy for dual monitors.

Pros
  • 2 USB-C Front and 2 USB-C Rear (Gen 2)
Cons
  • Zero

Shockingly poor docking station, especially considering the price

The main problem with this docking station is its reliance on the low-power Surface Connect port. USB-C ports don't support reliable USB-C to HDMI or Displayport cables, which causes monitors to occasionally turn on. You must either connect a USB-C to HDMI cable directly to the Surface Laptop/Pro or purchase an active adapter that plugs into the docking station. Both scenarios defeat the purpose of the $200 docking station. The ports on the docking station suffer from the same unreliabilityโ€ฆ

Pros
  • USB hubs
Cons
  • Clarity
