Midland Very poor customer service

Not compatible with Midland GXT1000G radios. I emailed Midland over a week ago asking which headset is compatible. No Answer. Called Midland today to say customer service works from home and was greeted with a message that the mailbox was full. Apparently Midlanders who work from home don't work as much.

Pros
  • Portable audio/video
Cons
  • Something else

Reminds me of 1980's cassette player headphones

This headset reminds me of a class 8 electronics project with cheap components. I used this with my Midland 75-822. It works…. That's all. This cracker is thin. A real headset is similar to the headphones that came with my Sony Walkman in the 1980s. I expected something like this from the toy department of a department store. Come Midland.... Make a compatible external speaker/microphone or hands-free headset that is reliable.

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • May damage

It works, but it's a terrible idea.

Don't get me wrong, they work great, but the concept of 1980's headphones with a big clunky mic is not a good idea for CB radio and not well thought out. The cables constantly prevent your voice from activating the mic when you don't want it to, although the 'push to talk' feature works well. Hooded raincoats are difficult to wear and brimmed hats are out of the question. Had it used a Bluetooth connection with an earpiece and a small receiver to talk to over a short cable I certainly wouldn't…

Scrap is the best accessory

This product is such a poorly designed piece of scrap that the headband and working parts have no firm connection. As soon as you put it on it falls apart, a constant disappointment. Perhaps the designers knew that it cannot be worn for a long time, it is so uncomfortable. It binds the head, loses alignment, and the clip at the end is hard and sharp, despite the iconic piece of foam being so hard it has no cushioning effect. The headphone (there is only one) is of poor quality and I could not…
