Full height works fine

As others have said half height can be pushed back but full height worked fine. Very strong snap connection with cable 8088 outside and 8087 inside.

Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Works great, very reliable, no performance issues

It's a bit more expensive than I would like, but this adapter worked well enough to convert an existing SAS backplane chassis into a JBOD case. My RAID controller had no problem seeing the backplane/drives through this adapter and all features like hot-swap drive and drive lookup worked fine. Unlike some competing products, there weren't any issues with mounting or bracket spacing - it fit inside the case. like any normal expansion card.

Pros
  • Internal
Cons
  • Blunt hardware

Ideal for DIY record rack

Great, just what I was looking for and from a reputable brand. For my homemade record rack. I have an LSI-9207-8e card and I plug it into my server and a sff-8088 cable connects them together.

Pros
  • RAID controller
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Doesn't work with my controller and chassis

I'm using an Adaptec 8885 with a Sans Digital MS8X12G SAS3 chassis. It is not possible to negotiate all drives at 12Gb/s using this adapter. It works fine when tested with external ports, so there's no doubt that the adapter is interfering.

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Fits well in a 2U chassis (half PCI height).

Unlike the other popular 8087-8088 adapters, which had two ports slightly spaced apart, this adapter fits in a low-profile pic slot (the other's board is too tall, though it half height has parentheses). There is nothing else in this product. This is a simple board so not much can go wrong either way. It uses the same bracket as the lsi 9207-8e cards I have. It's not really a big deal, but since I have spare half-height brackets and full brackets, it's nice to know that if I ever need to change

Pros
  • Computers and Accessories
Cons
  • Weak Set
