UPDATE 09/18/2015 When I first bought this clothesline I was thrilled. But a few months after the beginning of the relationship, the honeymoon ended. The problem is that the blown pins/buttons on the bottom of the device are not durable. And those pins/buttons are necessary because that's the key to keeping the lines taut. As others have said in the reviews here those protrusions on the bottom are the ones meant to wrap the cords a couple of times to keep them in place. instead of retracting the lines with use - they are at the seams and don't feel as strong. Instead of going through what others have gone through with rips and tears, wrap 3 inch hard fiber cord wrap clips by attaching them outside of the clothesline sleeve, maybe 1.5 inches or so. They work very well and should outlive the device and its cords. I
