Description of Minoyaki Oburo Matcha Ochawan Japan

Traditionally made Ochawan or Tea Bowl used in Japanese Tea Ceremony. Prime example of Japanese ceramic art and aesthetics. Versatile Dishware. Elevate your breakfast experience by using this bowl for granola, oatmeal, or other cereals. Equally as wondeful with other dished such as “donburi” or rice bowls. Embracing the beauty of subtle differences and imperfections found in hand-crafted objects is an integral part of the “wabi sabi” aesthetic philosophy of Japan. All our minoyaki products are artisanally made and thus should not be reproduced in exact detail. As such, actual colors and shape may differ slightly from the product as it appears in product photographs. Dishwasher Safe. Lead Free.

Excellent chawan! the best Japanese utensils for the tea ceremony

I love the bowl. It's more brown than grey, but still very pretty. I love the soft blue color on the inside and the white color on the outside. The craftsmanship is wonderful. I use this every day

Pros
  • Universal utensils. Upgrade your breakfast by using this bowl for muesli, oatmeal or any other cereal. It goes just as well with other dishes like donburi or rice bowls.
Cons
  • Was damaged

Beauty surprised me!

I didn't expect such beauty and sophistication from this chawan that looked so simple on the web. The soft, glossy glaze adds a beautiful texture that adds an extra dimension to the black and sepia tones. This is an elegant bowl for rice, salad, matcha etc. and looks great on my table. You can even throw it in the dishwasher and (I think) microwave! I want to buy a complete set to use for groceries.

Pros
  • Embracing the beauty of the subtle differences and imperfections found in handmade objects is an integral part of the Japanese wabi-sabi aesthetic philosophy. All of our Minoyaki products are handmade and therefore do not need to be reproduced in every detail. Therefore, the actual colors and shapes may differ slightly from the product photos.
Cons
  • Crumpled
