Initially my nose was pierced with 16 gauge. But they are hard to find in screws. So last year I used 18 and 20 gauge (below 16 gauge) because they are easier to find. However, I ordered an 18 gauge ring here and it was a lot thicker than my other nose rings. It is more suitable for 16 gauge. Which is good because I originally had a 16 gauge piercing but had to restretch my nose. So keep in mind that the sensors are big in my opinion.
