Hooks have problems.: Hardware

These hooks do not match exceptions. 1. The brass finish was patchy and did not always fully cover the face. Some looked like a defect that ended up in a box with a product. 2. The hooks did not fit the regular picture rail as well as other brands previously used. The curvature in the hooks "missed" the curvature of the rail. 3. Frames were "pushed out" far beyond the allowable amount, resulting in uneven display. As a result, the product was returned.

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • Unreliable

Great for hanging things on windows!

They work fine. I didn't want to put a lot of holes in my woodwork, so I ordered them not to hang pictures, but to hang blown glass baubles on the kitchen window. They fit in the window ledge just as they would in a picture ledge in a Victorian home. I didn't give them 5 stars as they are a little big and bulky and don't lay very flat but they were the best I could find for my purpose. Very easy to put on and take off, you just have to hook them to the groin.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Volume

This works for my house.

Perfect for the photo rail in my 1925 house. It has quite a large radius where it slides over the rail. Only available in brass, so you'll need to paint it if you want it to be less noticeable. There is no hole to attach it to the rail with a screw or nail, but that's not a problem for me as it fits my rail very well. The price is nice too. A word to the wise - if you can find a hook that suits your house or apartment, stock up. I used to buy hooks that worked well, but the company went broke…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • New competitors are here

Will not lay flat on a standard Ogee picture ledge but will do

The large side that fits over the picture ledge is slightly oversized for the standard size in Home found by Ogee Despot and local decoration shops. This will work, but you'll either have to dig into the wall to get it level, or mount it to something to give you more backside room, or not work quite straight. This may be acceptable and the product is ok although a bit pricey for what it is but I'm only giving 3 stars because the seller MUST BE THE ONLY ONE to provide this basic but essential…

Pros
  • Picture ledge Hook for hanging artwork on picture ledge
Cons
  • Slightly creased

If you have sculpting, that's great. If not, don't worry.

We built a house in the 1920's with so-called "picture ledges" around various rooms at window height. This molding (unless it's drenched in paint because years of idiots dripped paint down the gutter behind the molding) is perfect for the hooks you use to hang the wire on the hook. Manufactured in the days of stucco walls and the reluctance to drill holes in those stucco walls, they are inexpensive and get the job done. Highly recommend (if you have sculpting).

Pros
  • Picture hooks 1/2" wide x 1 3/4" long
Cons
  • Long delivery time
