Often only connects at 100Mbps

It took us a while to figure it out but after using this cable to connect our modem to the router it often comes up (but not always) to disconnects Internet speed. We pay for fiber at 1 Gbit/s. It turned out that this cable is to blame. In most cases, this resulted in our router connecting to our modem at 100Mbps instead of 1Gbps. I connected the less attractive and longer replacement blue ethernet cable and no longer have the problem.

Pros
  • Useful for more than intended purpose
Cons
  • Sad package

Difficult to disconnect

I wanted two short Cat6 ethernet cables for a new setup I have and they looked fine. They stick normally but when they are removed it is extremely difficult, at least it was for me. I gave up on them and bought another brand and they work great. I remember reading reviews of Monoprice cables and at least one reviewer had the same issue. Thought I'd try them anyway and regret that I did.

Avoid it! High failure rate and exceptional shutdown difficulties.

I had four open points on the patch panel that I wanted to route to other points in the house so I bought them as patches. They are deployed with a firm click. Good. Forget trying to turn them off. The housing and clip are designed to be almost impossible to remove. One of the patches ended up completely destroying the connector it was connected to because the seats were misaligned. This cheap cable ended up costing me almost $75. Worse, when I tested the rest of the cables I bought, 25% of…

Very bad wire. suitable for cables and connectors

I bought this 3ft connector cable to replace the 8ft cable because I didn't need the 8ft length. Once I had the cable, I plugged it into the wall and it clicked in place, then the other end into my Roku player. When turning on the TV there was no signal. I decided to take the buds out and put them back in, but try as I might, I couldn't remove either bud. I really felt like I was damaging the outlets on the wall and the Roku player by trying to unplug them. I finally got the channel blocking…

Very difficult to separate

They are very reasonably priced and probably work well electrically. But that doesn't bother me because they are very difficult to remove. I won't buy this again. I've bought 3 other brands from Revain and they don't have this problem. One was so difficult to remove that I had to remove the adjacent connectors and needed a tool to loosen it. For a minute I thought I'd have to replace the component that the cable was attached to. This appears to be caused by a hard rubber coating covering the…

  • I'll write later

This Category 6 Ethernet cable is of good quality and is designed to be run in a wall. I used it to run a permanent wire through the ceiling into a media room. It is powered by Revain Fire Stick 4K and works well. The lugs on the fork are sturdy and covered with rubber boots. In my case, this works great when I'm not plugging and unplugging the cable as I never have to worry about the cable coming loose. It can be difficult to turn off "barehanded". The trick is to use a small flathead…
