Fast and reliable USB 3 extenders

These are ideal for extending hard-to-reach USB ports, such as a USB cable. B. on the back of a computer case where access is restricted. accessible without adding unnecessary clutter. Speeds are excellent, there is no noticeable drop in transfer speeds when used with external USB drives compared to connecting directly to the USB 3 ports on the motherboard. The price is reasonable. Bring a few more than you think you'll need, they come in handy.

Pros
  • Best in the niche
Cons
  • I'll add later

You can never go wrong with Monoprice

I have bought a lot from Monoprice in the past and have never had a problem. The USB extension cable is durable and can withstand some abuse. Bought as an extension cable for a wired mouse. It made the mouse cable heavier due to the solid build quality, but I just tethered it to another cable and it's great.

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • Good but not great

not good USB cable

I have used 4 of these extenders. The first two I got years ago were excellent, a bit thicker than I wanted but very educational. the last two i got this year were also very thick, unfortunately the connections were very loose. I had to use tape to hold the cables together or the connectors would fall apart

Pros
  • Dream come true
Cons
  • Negative present

Nice Computers and Accessories

I use this on one of my Oculus Rift sensors. Even though I plug it into a USB 3.0 port on my computer, the Oculus software thinks it's 2.0 (and 3.0 without the extension). But since the other sensor is connected directly to port 3.0, that doesn't cause me any problems. And I know that this problem can depend on other things like my USB bus.

Pros
  • Nice
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Will not work with USB cables

Bought two and connected together to increase the length to 12ft instead of 6ft and it only works if you use it alone as a 6ft cable instead of them connect together to extend them to 12 feet in length. I have a 10-port USB hub and my external hard drives don't show up when connected. However when used individually it shows all 6 of my external hard drives but when combined it only shows 2 of them which defeats the purpose. So I'm sending them back.

Pros
  • Excellent design
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Works with some devices

Trash! I bought for an Oculus Rift and it worked really well, but now I also bought a WMR Odyssey+ and it doesn't work! It works for 30 seconds, and then the system doesn't see the HMD. I know it's the cable and not the HMD because the HMD works when I plug it directly into USB 3.0 on my computer. It should work regardless of the connected device. If this is not the case, the standards will not be met! Now I have to buy another cable that works with Odyssey! Pooh!

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • No automation

Pros

  • so far so good

Will not fit cables and accessories

Bought 2 and spliced them together to make it 12ft instead of 6ft and it only works if you use it alone as a 6ft cable and not if you link them together to increase its length to 12 feet. I have a 10-port USB hub and my external hard drives don't show up when connected. However when used individually it shows all 6 of my external hard drives but when combined it only shows 2 of them which defeats the purpose. So I'm sending them back.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Slightly torn
