Decent micro USB cable at a good price.

Very decent USB cables. The advantage of these special Monoprice micro USB cables is that these cables work well if your device is older and the USB charging port needs a tight fit. Another plus is a lifetime one-time replacement in the event of a cable failure.

Dead and not working

I was attracted by the length of the cable and the price. I didn't need this for my phone, but for the Bluetooth headphones I've used with my Focals, Beats Studio 3 and whatnot. This cable is in the trash like many other cheap cables, not sure why I don't know. So I use a 6 foot RavPower cable and it works great.

Excellent cable for USB powered applications

Bought this cable to power a single board computer (Raspberry Pi 3). I used to try using a random charge-only micro USB cable I had at home, but it didn't work because the computer reported bad power supply. This cable is much thicker and switching to it solved the problem.

Incompatible USB pinout may not perform all functions

I purchased this short cable with the intention of taking it apart as a proof of concept for a project I am working on. I was surprised to see that the cable did not have a ground wire. A photo I've attached shows a cable I bought after I cut and stripped it. In this picture you can see 3 wires and a screen. The other picture shows the pin specification for USB.
