The design of the item is good. The lighting throws a little light, which spoils the atmosphere. I would also have preferred an on/off switch rather than a self-timer. Really fun toy for all ages although I recommend not letting your 3 year old play with the remote too much :) The moon needs AA batteries and The remote accepts AAA, so we made the extra trip to charge, plugged it in and everything worked great. Nice to see the different stages of the moon. It glows with a bluish tint that is beautiful in contrast to yellow.
