Doesn't work on Macbook Pro 2019 16 inch

Cable drives Samsung Odyssey G9 at 5120 x 1440 at 120Hz when connected to a 2018 Macbook Pro and the monitor settings show that Display Port 1.4 is being used. When connected to a 2019 Macbook Pro, the monitor is simply not recognized even at the OS level. Not sure if it's a Mac or something else that would have given it a 5 star rating. The cable also works well when connected to the same monitor at 5120 x 1440 @ 60Hz via Display Port 1.2 from the Display Port connector of the Caldigit TS3…

Expensive solution

I am using this to connect my carbon x1 to a LG Ultrafine 5k monitor via my egpu with DisplayPort 1.4. This bi-directional cable seems to be one of the only solutions to get this monitor working with a windows laptop. The only criticism is the overpriced price. The rest works great. I should note that it only works in 4k and I can't get full 5k output as Windows doesn't have tiling support like macOS.

Pros
  • Best in the niche
Cons
  • Reliability

Works great on 2019 16 " MBP

I was able to connect 2 ASUS PB328Q monitors which can output 75Hz and only had a rare problem closing the lid to use external monitors only when the a connected monitor suddenly started flickering. This was fixed by simply reconnecting the USB-C end to the MBP. Haven't seen this since, but I've only had these cables for a little over a week. Otherwise works it's great as far as I can tell.

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • May damage

Miracle Cable for Apple Pro Display XDR

I've tried nearly a dozen DisplayPort to Thunderbolt 3 cables and this is the only one that has worked for my setup. I was able to connect my PC's display port (2080 TI graphics card) to the Apple Pro Display XDR's Thunderbolt 3 input. Everything works fine in 6k resolution, 60Hz.

  • Grand Price

Works with LG UltraFine 4k Display

I use a cable to connect my gaming PC to the LG UltraFine 4k Display that I use for work. LG UltraFine displays are optimized for Mac and only support Thunderbolt or USB-C displays. As far as I know, only the Moshi cable works. Works well, after a few months of use, no problems.

Pros
  • Inexpensive
Cons
  • Compatibility

Good cable for Mac with PC monitor

This cable works with my PC monitor and I'm pretty sure it sends a 10 bit signal from Vega 48 to my Mac. Many other adapters and cables didn't work in my case, so if that's what you need, this is the cable. As a caveat, the monitor I'm sending the signal to in this case is 8-bit + FRC, so it's not true 10-bit, but I've used test ramps in 10-bit applications, which display correctly.

Pros
  • Much good vibes
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Don't waste your time and money

DO NOT waste your time and money. This is a VERY expensive Type-C cable and the bi-directional capabilities are not as promised. I followed all the instructions, my screen met the requirements, and my display port was set up correctly. There was NO bi-directional output from my PC to USB-C on my screen as advertised. Conversely, it works fine, but not both. Don't waste your time and money on this. To make the transition from Displayport on my PC to my computer's USB-C display - I had 3 options…

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Works great on 2019 16 " MBP

After purchasing a new monitor a DP cable was required and it connected flawlessly to the TB3 connectors in the new 2019 16" MBP. I was able to connect 2 ASUS PB328Q monitors capable of outputting 75Hz and only had a rare issue closing the lid to use external monitors, only when the one connected monitor suddenly started flickering. This was fixed by simply reconnecting the USB-C end to the MBP. I haven't seen this since, but I've only had these cables for a little over a week. Otherwise, as…

Cons
  • Out of fashion

The name speaks for itself. It just works. Although not an Apple product, it has an Apple-style finish. The Apple website also recommends this cable, although the Apple Store does not usually stock it. I've seen many other third-party cables that seem to meet the minimum advertised, but this cable seems to exceed expectations. The only bug I've encountered is that my M1 Mac Mini is asleep and losing connection to the monitor. The only way to resume signal flow from the Mac Mini to the monitor…
