I've been using this thermometer 3 times a week for over 3 years and just changed the battery for the first time. My kids use it as a toy and it holds up well to abuse. Our water temperature isn't constant, so we take care when taking a dip (we aim for 94-95). I calibrated it with several other thermometers and it was accurate. Bought this for my son with autism so he can start controlling the water temperature in the bathroom himself. He can do these tasks on his own, but doesn't sense when the water is too hot. He reacts poorly to temperature. So he can look at it and see the light, then he will know whether to add cold water or not. We can take that with us on trips etc. I wish my son would one day make an effort to rely less on his caregivers and this is a step closer. I love this product. It also doesn't look…

I have purchased three of these units. And first my first (far right in the picture) was the hammer. I love them because my hot tubs only give basic temperature numbers, 102, 103, etc., while giving more specific decimal numbers like 103.6. However, it derailed after about 3 months and was underestimated by about 2-3 degrees. You know, if your hot tub reads 103 and this thing reads 100.6, something is wrong.
