Worked on CR85, good for bikes and weightlifting

Actually worked on my son's CR85. I had to pry the spring washer out with a hanger and file it down a bit, but it worked. The manual had a part number for this, but reading the 41mm to 47mm forks made me feel a bit uneasy about the purchase. However, it worked.

Pros
  • Great for small homes
Cons
  • Like that

works perfectly. Suitable for fluids and maintenance

This is NOT the same as the Yamaha OEM # YM-01423 listed, it is a few inches shorter. My FZ09 forks go all the way down the tube. I had to make an extension out of a 22mm deep well and drill out the legs so they would hook at the top. The T-Bar cannot be used at any time. Otherwise it's just a steel tube, it works fine.

Pros
  • Best in the niche
Cons
  • Dull packaging

Will not fit my 2001 CR125R

Supposed to fit "most" KYB forks of various sizes but will not fit mine. The manufacturer's description was vague as to what fit and what didn't fit. The quality of the tool seems good and worth the money, but unfortunately I now have a spare tool in my tool box that I can't use. I ended up making a homemade tool out of a piece of pipe.

Pros
  • Wow

Does not fit Yamaha r6 03-05 wrong diameter

Does not fit Yamaha r6 2003-2005 it is oversized by twisting and does not fit into the damper rod grooves. The tooth section diameter is about 1 inch, but the 03-05 R6 damper stem is about 3/4 inch so it will not fit into the slots in the damper stem.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Older model

Essential tool for shock absorber service

When repairing a stock fork. That is, this tool is not needed for draining and replacing fluid, replacing gaskets and scrapers. On the other hand, if you want to disassemble the damper shaft in order to reinstall or check the valve, this tool is an absolute must. I was able to disassemble my bumper incorrectly, don't ask and this tool is definitely the correct and preferred way. Don't try to disassemble your bumper without it!

Pros
  • Pleasing
Cons
  • Almost OK

Not long enough for XVS 650 V Star

This tool is not long enough to remove the XVS 650 V Star damper rod, although the company website claims it is the correct tool. Also, it didn't quite fit the top of the damper rod. I looped the tube around the end and checked the fit on the rod I had already removed, then hammered the longer rod onto the other end to get the right length and leverage. You should definitely have SOMETHING to pull the stem out of if you completely disassemble your forks and don't have an impact wrench.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Unsure
