Description of Motion Pro 08 0471 Bead Buddy

New and improved design of the original Bead Buddy. Hooks over spoke and pushes bead down on opposite side of tire from tire irons. Used to push the tire bead down into the drop center of the rim on off-road wheels while using tire tools to change tires.

It's like a third hand

It's like a third hand. Makes changing tires much easier. Definitely worth it. I have 3 boys and we all drive so you can imagine how often I change flat tires. I can't believe I didn't know this before.

Pros
  • Brings joy
Cons
  • Protection

Doesn't work on motorcycles and powersports

They didn't fit my dirt bike wheels. The rims are too deep and I couldn't fit the spokes in the slot. Smaller wheels will probably fit. I ride an XR650R. Edit: I have KDX now and they work fine. The construction seems solid and they seem to help in the videos I've seen. 🤷‍♂️

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Doesn't fit all

Works great in parts

The only reason I gave them 4 stars to be honest I think they are a bit thick and the original Bead Buddy 1 was way better. When changing bibs, you need at least 3-4 of them to make your life easier. still way better than a vise damaging your rims, but the original stainless steel version was still easier to install and remove than the new cast aluminum ones.

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Some cons

The thing works great. I replaced my first motorcycle camera with it.

This thing works great. I replaced my first motorcycle inner tube with a set of three 14" long scoops. Everything went well and Bead Buddy really helped. Two would have been better, but one was enough. I highly recommend using a solution of soapy water on the bead (break it off and put it back on) - it makes a world of difference.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Zero

Brilliant! An irreplaceable thing. (Hey, that's great inflation advice!)

Absolutely no tire changing kit is complete without one of these little bastards. This eliminates the need for a third mount. Once you get used to it, it's almost like a helping hand holding a third crowbar that you no longer need. Very, very well made and a truly unique tool. You don't wear it, it doesn't take up space, it weighs very little, it's as strong as titanium, and if I could wear it on my lapels, I would! I only regret why I didn't think of it?

Pros
  • Lots of good vibes
Cons
  • Damaged

Works on some bikes, not all.

This tool should be able to hold one side and allow the user to install the bead onto a spoked wheel. Well, it doesn't fit all spokes or all wheels. So if you buy it and think you can use it to adjust one side while stuffing the other, you may need more than 2 blades and more than one of these partners on all types of spoked wheels. Someone may have a lot of experience with this particular tool, but not me. This would not allow me to fit a 21 inch bead on the XR650L. I've been changing wheels…

Pros
  • Solid Finish
Cons
  • Almost OK

Had high hopes but wasn't impressed. I guess I'm using it incorrectly

Repair, not restoration, of a 44 year old Yamaha test bike. Everything original. I bought this bike new in 1974. Both tires looked good but up close they were dry and cracked. I had to replace them. In my whole life I have changed a motorcycle tire maybe 5 times. I have simple tire changers. Remembering they were a pain, I bought the best tire spoons and this Bead Buddy. The reviews were so overwhelming I had to have it. If $15 makes changing tires easier now and in the future, do it. Well I've

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Available in white only
