Works as described for thermostats

Opens and closes 195ยฐ. The o-ring was missing so I reused the old one. never mind The old one remains open. Fit was exact 1998 k1500

simple part, simple work, works as expected.

Matches with the coolant temperature sensor as they are both "right there". The engine temperature is now correct. My Saab mechanic seemed happy with the part (it was originally bought for me to fit, but the weather made digging in the shade wood far less desirable than paying him to do the work). It's only been a few weeks, but he's working in the cold. If something goes wrong I'll come back and update it.

Pros
  • Meets or exceeds OEM standards
Cons
  • For older models

Bought this for my 1999 Suburban, fit was great. I didn't use the gasket that came with it and bought the Fel-Pro gasket instead. I have combined this with a new GMB high performance radiator and water pump with an amazing combination of cooling performance. I've seen normal operating temperatures drop 30-40 degrees in summer and 10 degrees in winter. It takes about 5 seconds for the temperature to drop before turning off again. I STRONGLY recommend this as the drop in operating temperatureโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Quality stainless steel and copper construction
Cons
  • Negative impression
