Faulty motor ruins car's engine

This idle control motor is a disaster! After installing it, my car started having engine trouble. It gave me a hard time, and the mechanics told me that the motor doesn't work well with my car. It is a serious problem for any automotive owner, and I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone.

Idle Air Control Motor

This part is half the price that Ford charges in the parts department. The Ford service replaced parts that were good nickels and blacked me out so I went to the autozone and was told this is the most common part to fail when my Ford Focus isn't idling. I also went to the Monroe brake and muffler shop and the mechanic told me the same thing. Pretty bad if Ford doesn't tell you.

There are times when it makes sense to buy an OEM part and this is a perfect example. Our Ford Focus had a rough and stumbling idle and I bought an aftermarket IAC to fix it. The aftermarket part worked fine - about 2 weeks - and then the problem returned. I should have known better. The second time I bought a part from Motorcraft. It works great and I'm sure it will last as long as the original (90,000 miles). This part is very easy to replace - unscrew the throttle cable fitting and slide it…
