Buy if you have an old style hat!

Like most other reviews say replace the cap if you have an old model! I have a Ford 500 that keeps overheating so I bought this $8 cover as soon as I got it. I tested this cap under pressure against the old cap and this cap held 17psi for hours until I stopped the test when the other cap fell off. psi to 9 psi. After putting the cover on, the machine stopped overheating.

Pros
  • All products are designed with the pros in mind
Cons
  • So-so

Typical Ford product

This is a genuine Ford product, hence it has five stars in that sense. Only three stars though because in my experience it only lasts a few years before needing to be replaced. This is my third radiator cap. If I could find a good after-sales service option, I would go this route. I bought this for my 2006 6.0 diesel and it fits. Too bad Ford doesn't make a better product. However, they are relatively inexpensive. As soon as I notice that I have to add fluid too often or I smell coolant, it's…

Pros
  • Internationally known for our diverse range of award winning products
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

If you have an older engine and have not yet replaced your radiator cap, order it NOW. Old PowerStrokes came with crappy radiator caps and didn't close properly, especially as they got older. And an unsealed radiator cap lowers the boiling point of coolant than if the cap were properly closed, which can cause your power stroke to overheat, leading to head gasket loss and possibly more. As inexpensive as this radiator cap is, there should be no question as to whether or not it should be…

Pros
  • Continually upgrading our high performance units to meet the needs of today's users
Cons
  • A newer model could have been selected
